At a beauty bar, teeth whitening procedures using LED treatments offer a quick, non-invasive way to enhance your smile. The process typically begins with a consultation to assess your dental health and determine suitability for the treatment. A protective barrier, such as a rubber dam or gel, is applied to shield your gums and lips, and a professional-grade whitening gel, often containing hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, is carefully applied to your teeth. The LED light, emitting a specific wavelength (usually blue light), is then directed at your teeth to activate the whitening agent. This light accelerates the chemical reaction, breaking down stains and discoloration caused by food, drinks, or smoking. The treatment usually lasts 20-60 minutes, depending on the desired results and the system used, with some clients noticing their teeth lightened by several shades in a single session.

A 20-minute light activated treatment that utilizes an LED light as a catalyst to activate the carbamide peroxide gel and accelerate the whitening process. Once activated, the gel gently oxidizes the discolored proteins within the teeth, leaving you with a beautiful, refreshing white smile. This treatment typically yields an improvement of 2-8 shades and can be complimented with our aftercare kits to maximize your results. NOTE* For those of you with stubborn stains acquired with age, personal habits,and / or genetics a 2nd treatment or a custom tray kit may be required to achieve optimal results.

The LED light mechanism in teeth whitening enhances the efficacy of the whitening gel through a process called photodynamic activation. The LED device emits a specific wavelength of blue light, typically in the 430-490 nanometer range, which is directed at the teeth after a whitening gel (containing hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide) is applied. This light energy activates the peroxide molecules in the gel, causing them to break down faster and release reactive oxygen species, such as free radicals.

These oxygen molecules penetrate the enamel and dentin layers of the teeth, where they oxidize and break apart the chemical bonds of chromophores—organic compounds responsible for stains and discoloration. The result is a brighter, whiter appearance as the stains are effectively “bleached” away.
